Dr. Alexis Gómez González
My name is Alexis Gómez González, PMHNP-BC. I am a physician graduated from the School of Medical Sciences of Havana (Cuba), with over 26 years of experience in family medicine and psychiatry, working in communities across Cuba, Mexico, and the United States.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated my practice to the comprehensive care of mental health disorders, with a special focus on anxiety, depression, insomnia, addictions, and neurodevelopmental disorders. My training combines medicine and psychiatry with a passion for teaching, research, and accessible dissemination.
I have created innovative graphic materials and illustrated books that help patients, families, and healthcare professionals understand the complexity of the human mind in a clear and empathetic way. This vision led me to develop the Emotional Aikido MEthod, a pioneering tool that integrates neuroscience, clinical practice, and a visual approach to make psychiatry more personalized and understandable.
I currently direct La Fe Clinic in Los Angeles and a clinic in Mexico City, both focused on providing humanistic and effective treatment, especially for vulnerable populations. In parallel, I participate in medical training projects, academic publications, and community care initiatives, promoting mental health in both Spanish and English.
“Mental health is a bridge between science and humanity; my mission is to make it accessible and useful for everyone.”
